how to type fast

Take a course in speed typing, get yourself a copy of Mavis Beacon's Typing software, or there are other pretty good utilities that teach you to type faster without looking. 


For example, I remember a utility that worked like the old four-color Simon games. On the screen, you would see a simulated keyboard. One of the keys would change color and you would have to press that key within so many seconds. 

Next they would show you a letter WITHOUT the keyboard and you had to press it in so many seconds. 

They would then move up to words, and you had so many seconds to type the word in without a typo. 

Finally a short sentence was displayed and you tried to type that in on a time limit. You got so many points for the sessions and once you got better at typing the scores went up. 

If you do it "correctly" by not looking at the keyboard, and it starts to become second nature to you (you dont have to think about where the key is before you actually press it), then you will see your typing speed up.
